so i finally got to see minus the bear, thanks to erin.
the opening bands were pretty meh, but oh wellll.
i was basically right against the stage, standing behind kristi berry's tall ass. this fat sweaty girl kept jumping around and singing too loud and push pitting for the "heavy parts". of course i pushed back to everyone who got too much pushin' in my ways and several times just sent my body flying in their direction to get them outta my area. too much weed smokin' in small packed areas and too many guys wearing moe/phish clothing who were "rocking out". dumbbbb.
the set list was too much of new stuff and the new song they played wasn't that great at all.

hey.
i love craigslist. i got the two cabs today [ampeg v4 4x12 and ampeg b25 2x15; both early 70's] and a russian big muff from this guy today for $290. the v4 + 2 cabs and my guitar sounds amazinggg. i also have a 70's musicman hd-130 head in the mail. and i got an ehx hum debugger in the mail today. life is neat, sometimes. saving up the rest of the money i got from selling my orange to get tattoo'd by myles karr sometime soon. he rules!

hell yeah @ life. well, at least one [veryyy important] aspect of it.
still have no clue about future plans i.e.: if i'm going back to school, finding a new job that pays me more so i can hopefully move out asap, what am i doing in general, etc.
i'm learning how to be more open with my thoughts and feelings and blahblah and because of that, things are getting better i think. for instance, i've wanted to add a second guitarist/bass player to deer friends since last winter and i just now told marlon and he's down with it, if we can find the right person.
that being saiddd...if you're in the central jersey area [nyc, philly, whatever..as long as you can come to practice often] and would be interested in shreddin', or you know someone looked for a band, let me know!
requirements:
-must have sweet gear! i have a very loud rig and you'd need to be able to keep up with me and marlon. right now i'm using an orange ad30htc head with an avatar 2x12 cab and an ampeg v4 head [loud as shit] with a 4x12 mesa boogie cab. i doubt i would make my rig smaller if we got another guitarist, but i'm not sure! hate to sound like a dick, but a tube [guitar] amp is basically a must. unless you can impress me otherwise, it's a must! the more pedals, the better! a capo would probably be needed, seeing as probably 2/3 of our songs use one. if you had a baritone guitar [fender jaguar baritone custom ;) ] that'd be kinda perfect, actually.
-no drama, ever! i'm pretty sure in the almost 5 years i've known marlon, we've never been in a fight or anything. best buds till the end!
-transportation and ability to come to practice/shows. you don't have to be from super close, but as long as you can come to practices and shows and hang outs and stuff, then we're down! we're not just looking for a new member, but a new bud!
-super important; that you're able to play with us. we kind of have a "weird" style of writing music and so basically if you can write with us, that's most important. i don't want it to be a thing where i write a song and tell you to make up parts for it, that's not how we work.
-we're not straight edge, don't care if you are or aren't. preferably not, just because we're sick of elitist central jersey straight edge attitudes.
-want to actually play shows and practice and hopefully get our act together and tour this summer. we're not a casual band with once a month practices and we love to play together.
i don't know, just let me know if you have any leads!

in honor of seeing owen tonight and my current mood/feelings or whatever..
owen - "the sad waltzes of pietro crespi
could you love someone enough
after all you've had and you've lost?
it's a simple question
I'm only asking 'cause I don't want to die alone
could you love someone completely?
and yes, by "someone" I mean me
spoiled sick like milk you let sit too long
it's a simple question
as I lie awake waiting for you to lay beside me
I can almost hear the sad waltzes of Pietro Crespi
could you love someone who does whatever he wants to do
whenever I want to?
it's a simple question
I'm only asking 'cause I don't want to die alone
